Chapter 3: Madam, you must be mistaken
Young Master, Come and Possess Me!
Chapter 3: Madam, you must be mistaken
No, she cannot die!
She is the sole breadwinner of her family so she could not die...
She cannot die!
The pressure that blocked her chest suddenly came out from her mouth.
“Waaaa...” She cried as she spat out a mouthful of water. Pain squeezed her throat so tightly that she kept on coughing.
“Young master! Young master, you finally woke up!”
Her eardrums were still filled with water as she felt someone tug on her body. The voice that was filled with worries sounded like it came from a very far off place.
Yet, she had clearly heard the word “Young master” followed by the word “woke up”.
She raised her head and saw a lot of people surrounding her in a full circle. Worry filled all of their faces while they gave a sigh of relief and then they finally smiled slightly.
She kept on coughing while she thought: Was the eldest Young Master saved together with her?
Somebody helped her stand upright then draped a warm blanket over her body. A pair of icy cold hands clutched at her wrist worriedly.
She raised her gaze and saw an elegant middle aged lady gazing at her with both worry and relief. Her eyes were now filled with tears that flowed down in a stream as she blinked.
“My son, are you alright?”
She stared stupidly at the lady feeling confused.
Isn’t this the madam of the Li Household?
Who was she calling son exactly?
“Are you alright?” Madam Li's worried hands wiped off the water droplets on her wet face.
“Why aren’t you saying anything? Answer mother now!”
Did she hear her wrongly?
What is the matter with Madam Li?
Why is she still insisting on calling her “son”?
Was she still in shock?
Tang Cheng Cheng opened her mouth, intending to speak, yet because of the drowning incident, her throat was now tight and aching so she couldn’t voice out her words.
She turned around trying to find someone to explain her situation. She swept her eyes under the bright light of the lanterns and saw a person sitting beside then stared at her in complete shock.
That, that person, why is she so familiar?
She looks like... HER?
HOW CAN THAT BE?!
Isn’t she still alive? Why is she looking at herself right now?
What happened?
The ghost month had already passed so why is she looking at a ghost now?
“I think you must still be in shock.”
Madam Li made the conclusion when she didn’t speak for quite some time then instructed the servants around them,
“Go and get the doctor now then find a soft palanquin and send the young master back to his room.”
“Madam,” an old deep voice rang out among the crowd,
“The doctor is already on his way and the palanquin is now ready for the Young master.”
Tang Cheng Cheng knew who the old deep voice belonged to —— the head butler, who was the most powerful servant in the whole household. When the Li Household servants looked at her, they treated her the same way as they would the masters of the Li family— with fear and courtesy.
The head butler then gave his orders authoritatively:
“Carry the Young master carefully into the palanquin.”
Someone then helped her up and carried her there.
But she is not the Young master!
It was at this moment that the young girl who looked exactly like her rushed forward and pushed through the crowd then used both her hands to grab on the neckline of her clothes.
“You...”
That person had just opened her mouth when the servants came up and dragged her back to push her to the side. The teenage girl then rolled on the grassy ground and almost fell into the lake.
“Who was the one that was so rude to the Young Master?” Madam Li angrily shouted.
“Madam, let this old one personally handle this matter. Please accompany the Young Master back to his room.”
The head butler’s gaze darkened in anger as two servants held that young girl in place.
The young girl struggled without stopping while scrunching her brows into a deep frown. Suddenly, it looked as if she finally understood her situation then her surprised eyes shot at Tang Cheng Cheng sharply.
What is it now?
The confused Tang Cheng Cheng was about to open her mouth when a sharp pain shot out through her voice box. She still wasn’t able to talk.
The servants assisted her up while Tang Cheng Cheng stumbled clumsily to sit down on the palanquin that she never had the opportunity to even touch before this. They then went on to arrive at a simple but luxurious courtyard.
Tang Cheng Cheng was being assisted by 2 servants when she descended from the soft palanquin. They then all walked towards the residence.
Her mind was still in a mess because of the drowning incident, so she didn’t pay much attention to the things around her. That was the moment that she realized that two men were assisting her.
Her heart jolted as she flung off their hands. She then collapsed limply on the ground as their strength no longer supported her up anymore.
Madam Li saw everything that had happened as she had walked behind them. She rushed forward and shouted in a concerned tone.
“Son, what is the matter with you?”
Tang Cheng Cheng could no longer bear with her strange behavior any longer.
Was she still dreaming?
That must be it, or else how could she have seen a young girl who looked exactly like her? Why else would Madam Li keep calling her “son”?
Please don’t tell her that she became crazy because she kept thinking about ways to earn more money? Would it then explain why she was now dreaming of becoming Li Hai Jiao?
She swallowed her saliva with great difficulty and only managed to speak in a hoarse and strained voice,
“I am not… your… son…”
Her voice was deep and rough. She guessed it must be because her throat had sustained a very heavy injury.
“Son, what are you trying to say?”
Madam Li leaned her ears closer so she can listen to him properly.
“I am not… not your son…”
Madam Li gave out a shocked cry when she finally understood her words. She covered her wide opened mouth with her hands,
“My dear father in heaven!”
Then she fainted straightaway.
