Young Master, Come and Possess Me!

Chapter 33: Fox’s subordinates

"Jackal, jackal, have you found him yet, have you found him yet?"

A lynx about the size of a cat, had black spots on its yellow fur that was similar to a leopard print, danced lightly on the treetops, and finally jumped under the tree and came in front of a golden jackal. When lynx stood up, she immediately took on the shape of a human, but the ears on her head and thick long tail behind could not be hidden.

The jackal walked in circles with a dignified expression, as if confirming something.

"The scent is around here." The jackal raised his head and sniffed the air once more.

He was smelling his "Master’s" scent, why was it so light that it was beginning to worry him?

The Jackal's heart was pounding with anxiety.

He and Lynx are both subordinates of Fox, and they signed an oath and a contract, so when Fox had a major crisis that endangered his life, the two immediately sensed it, but Fox's scent had weakened so it took them two days to find his tracks.

The lynx's small black nose sniffed the air.

"It seems to be the strongest, the strongest here." Lynx frowned.

They had travelled to the bottom of Tianlang Mountain, where both the stream and river were nearby. This place was home to various flora and fauna, towering trees, and all kinds of plants. From time to time, you can see little rabbits sneaking through the bushes.

Jackal walked a few steps forward, and suddenly felt his heart beating strongly. He could feel all the hair on his body stood up in attention so he responded to it by running as fast as he could muster.

The lynx, who had just learned how to transform herself into her human form was still not very good at walking on two legs. She tried to catch up to jackal, but she messed up by treating her left leg with her right one and fell down because of that clumsiness.

"Waaahh!"

The lynx, who had been practicing divinity for less than two hundred years, cried because of the scratch on her own forehead.

"Move quickly!" Jackal unsympathetically barked at her.

"Wuu..." Lynx blew her nose pitifully. She had no choice but to return to her cat shape and took advantage of her petite stature to shuttle through the bushes, to quickly catch up with Jackal.

Just when she was about to jump on Jackal and hitch a ride on his back, he suddenly stopped, causing her to bump head on to his much larger body.

"Aiyo" Lynx could see stars in front of her.

“He’s here." Jackal stared ahead.

Only an observant individual would be able to discern that this place seemed to be missing a very vital spot.

At the bottom of the overgrown cliff, it seemed as if a piece of grassy turf had been scraped off the scenery while half of the branches that grew out of the cliff were missing.

Jackal and Lynx had signed a contract that bound them in both life and death, so they both could see a glimmer of light in this strange, empty space.

This was the invisibility spell casted by Fox.

Lynx stepped forward, and drew an arc with her tiny paws in the air.

"There's something covering master! Covering master!" Lynx tilted her head in puzzlement.

Jackal could only guess that Fox's mind must have been in a really confused state before he casted the spell to make the whole area invisible. Was he in such a bewildered state that he had made such a juvenile mistake as to miss a chunk of the scenery when he did the invisibility spell?

Jackal stood up straight, closed his eyes and began chanting a new spell. After a while, his pointed ears seemed to turn downwards to form a pair of clam shell ears, then his tail shrunk in between his butt, as his toned body straightened upwards and morphed steadily into a well built tall young man who had a slightly gloomy look on his handsome face.

He put his hand on the invisible tree canopy and muttered a spell to dissolve the barrier.

He usually had to work really hard if he had to crack the invisibility spell casted by Fox. He didn't expect it to be destroyed in his third try and reveal the egg-like tree nest underneath.

"Egg, egg!" Lynx excitedly pointed to the tree nest.

Jackal scowled in annoyance when Lynx continued on her habit of repeating every word twice when she opened her mouth. He could never understand why Fox, who rarely accepts subordinates, chose to accept the noisiest little rascal he had ever met.

Fox even said that she was cute because she was so noisy?!

Shouldn't he find her annoying instead?!

Jackal pulled out a knife from his waist and carefully split open the tree canopy. He did not dare to destroy it with his magic because he was afraid of accidentally hurting Fox who was inside. When Lynx saw this, she opened her mouth wide and bit the branch.

Lynx then growled while tearing the branches apart because they were too hard.

Did she think that this was all fun and games?

Jackal glared at her in annoyance.

When they finally dismantled the intertwined branches and saw the scene in front of them, they were both stunned.

Why did their most respected, most noble master, turn into a woman?
