[Chapter 34]  [Index]    [Chapter 36]

Young Master, Come and Possess Me!

Chapter 35: The tiger was bullied by the dog when it landed on flat ground

When Tang Cheng Cheng woke up, the tree shed above her head had been separated. The sun was so dazzling that she couldn't help raising her hand to block most of the sunlight before she could open her eyes.

"You're awake, you're awake!" Suddenly a pleasant voice shouted from Tang Cheng Cheng's left.

She turned her head around in confusion, and saw a little figure who was around the height of a ten-year-old child. It had a pair of fluffy triangular ears on its head, a tail dangling from its behind and two pearly ebony pupils that almost filled the whole entirety of its adorable round tilted eyes.

Was this being a demon or a ghost?

Tang Cheng Cheng was horrified. She sat up immediately as she scrambled back to lean against the rocky cliff wall behind.

"Young, young… young master!"

Where was he?

"Who are you looking for? Who are you looking for?"

The tiny villain[1] walked towards her while it's gait swayed unsteadily like it was still not used to walking on both feet yet.

Don't tell her...

"Did you eat the young master?!" Tang Cheng Cheng's face instantly paled.

"Who was eaten?"

A small stone came straight to hit her forehead.

"Aiyo!" Her fingers rubbed her forehead in pain. "Master, are you not dead?"

She was both surprised and happy as she looked at Fox sitting leisurely on the ground not far ahead.

"Did you even think that a lynx who has only practiced divinity for two hundred years can eat me?"

Was she trying to make a joke so that those big shot demons can laugh until their teeth fall off?

Although Lynx was two hundred years old, she still had not purified her body enough to even grapple with the most basic form of magic. It was generous to even say that Lynx had the magical ability of a being practicing divinity for at least a hundred years. It would be impossible for Lynx to kill Fox even if she was reborn into her next life.

"But you've become an ordinary person in that body now!"

"It is because of you that I’ve become an ordinary person, alright?!"

She should explain the cause and effect clearly!

"By the way, is your injury okay?"

Tang Cheng Cheng couldn't help but worry when she recalled the injury he had suffered that day. He could still hit her with the stone just now, so he must be fine, right?

"Now the injury is on your body."

Their souls had returned since it has been three days.

"Oh."

Tang Cheng Cheng touched her back. The skin there felt baby smooth and recovered without even a trace of scar like Fox had never been hurt in the first place.

"Is this all healed?"

"Of course it has been healed. It's been three days."

"Three… days?!" Tang Cheng Cheng was taken aback.

Did that mean that she actually slept for three days?

"This is for you, for you." Lynx handed her a leather canteen [2].

Tang Cheng Cheng looked at Fox to make sure that he didn’t forbid her to do this. She then accepted it and opened the strings of the canteen.

It was clean water.

Her dry and itchy throat was instantly soothed as the pure refreshing liquid hit her tongue. She tipped the canteen back to fully gulp down every single drop inside.

"Delicious!" She dabbed away every bit of water droplet on her lips as best as she could.

"Come here and prepare the food." Fox motioned her to come over.

"The food?"

As soon as she heard these two words, she became hungry.

She haven't eaten anything for the past three days so her stomach was already empty.

When she reached Fox’s side, she only realized that there was a tall, handsome young man tying up the bamboo sticks to make some racks... No, she should have describe him as a adolescent stranger making a rack instead. He was lazily directing his magic in the air with one hand while the other hand supported one side of his cheek.

"The things are there."

Fox pointed to the rabbits behind Jackal. There were three dead rabbits in total.

"Is there a knife?" Tang Cheng Cheng asked.

"Jackal." Fox gestured with a tilt of his chin.

Jackal drew the knife from his waist, glanced at her once then handed it to her.

He managed to deliver a gaze full of contempt towards her before he lowered his eyes.

"She's a cat, are you a jackal?" Tang Cheng Cheng, who didn't notice the contempt in his eyes, asked curiously, "Are you also a demon who has practiced for thousands of years?"

“Don’t simply just act so friendly with them!” Fox berated her.

Were her curious questions a crime big enough for him to shout at her?

Tang Cheng Cheng casted an accusing look at Fox.

How dare she glare at him?

Fox swiftly grabbed a pebble and was about to flick it towards her forehead.

Tang Cheng Cheng reflexively crossed her hands to protect her forehead.

"If you throw it at me then I will kiss you!" Tang Cheng Cheng threatened him furiously.

He would be the one who would suffer the pain then.

Fox’s facial expression instantly distorted.

How dare she threaten him!

Fox twirled the pebble in his hands and finally decided to throw it back to the ground.

Jackal can only lower his head to hide the sadness in his eyes.

His mighty master was now unable to resist the threats of an ordinary mortal woman.

This reality is so sad...

Translation corner:

[1] 小人 translate directly to small person, but it actually means bad person or villain. Since it’s ghost month now you’ll probably see some old Chinese aunties take some of these small paper dolls that signifies this villain and hit it repeatedly with a slipper in the Chinese temples or at the side of the road when they burn incense. This is to prevent bad spirits or bad people from cursing your family. You can look it up here instead.

[2] leather canteen: 皮囊 this might not be the correct translation as it might be waterskin too. I cannot find the official translation for this in English but basically this is what you’ll see in wuxia (kungfu) films based in ancient China.

but according to my Baidu search the civilian one looks more like this:

The traditional leather canteen (b) is made from goat’s skin. They skin the whole goat in its entirety and tie the 4 ends of the opening to ensure that the water doesn’t drip out for the big storage. For the small bottles (a), they cut out only the limb part and tie both ends. The first reference (c) simply just sew two leather flaps together to form the canteen. It’s usually used for ancient china’s army troops.
