Chapter 17: Attacked!

Their hearts pumped nervously as the horse carriage started to sway more and more furiously. Tang Cheng Cheng grabbed onto the window panels in a panic and accidentally tore the curtains in the process.

Fox on the other hand, fell to the tiger skin carpet on the floor and knocked over the small furnace inside the carriage. He nearly burnt his skin just like that.

Both of them didn’t have time to react nor remotely guess on what was currently happening. An explosion sounded all of a sudden and the carriage cracked open in half.

Fox was thrown off the carriage by an invisible hand. He hit the corner of the wall and slumped down. He could no longer lift himself up as pain spread through his body.

Tang Cheng Cheng was now floating in mid air so she shouted in fear of the unknown.

“Ah ah ah... Help...” Her mouth was then covered by something she couldn’t see. Horrified tears started to fill her eyes and flowed down her cheeks.

What had just happened?

Fox forcefully pulled himself up and shouted at the thin air,

“Release her now!”

That invincible object seemed to obey him as Tang Cheng Cheng suddenly tumbled to the ground.

“AH——”

Tang Cheng Cheng shrieked. Her body stopped falling when she was only three inches away from the ground, she then flew up even higher than before.

Fox clenched his teeth in anger as he glared at Tang Cheng Cheng who was now suspended in mid air.

The thing that was attacking them was definitely right beside Tang Cheng Cheng. Furthermore he could see that the collar of her coat was now raised up abnormally. He hated that he had no powers now and could not even see what the thing that was attacking her looked like.

Fox could only hear the muffled cackle of the object as if he was now laughing at how weak they currently were. The now powerless Fox can only glare at how Tang Cheng Cheng was dragged back to the big courtyard of the Li Manor. He grabbed his woolen jacket in a hurry and just casually draped it on his body. He didn’t have any time to button it up and only held both the lapels of the jackets close then rushed out to chase after them.
