[Chapter 40]  [Index]     [Chapter 42]

Young Master, Come and Possess Me!

Chapter 41: Dear honorable beings, please pass me the padded coat!

"Bear, aren’t you a bit too petty? How could you just destroy our strong brotherhood just for the sake of that delicious honey. Is it worth that much?"

Fox complained and acted as if he was saddened by the fact.

"How dare you call me your brother!" Bear huffed angrily as he uprooted a small tree and threw it at Fox.

Fox just dodged it with one light prance towards the side.

"Look at you, not only are you petty, you are also harming innocent lives without any thought for them. Tsk, tsk, tsk, do you even know how old this tree is? Sigh... it hasn’t even finished growing all its branches yet and you just killed it so mindlessly."

"Don't talk so much nonsense over there. If I don't take my revenge on you for stealing my honey by killing you today, then my name won't be..."

Bear stopped his words abruptly.

"What's your name again?" Fox mocked him by deliberately widening his eyes, while the corners of his smiling mouth spread sideways until they almost reached his ears.

"Stinky fox, do you think that I won’t know that you are trying to make me blurt out my own name?"

"You are the one who wants to tell me your name anyway, or are you hesitating because you don’t have the confidence that you can kill me today?"

There is a rule in the demon world that you should never reveal your real name because if someone finds out about it and you happened to lose a fight against that being then you will immediately be demoted to become the subordinates of the other party.

If someone accidentally finds out about the name of a certain demon and secretly tells that demon's enemy or another being who covets that demon, then that poor demon will definitely be hunted down all day long. This was especially true for a rare thousand-year-old nine-tailed demon like the Fox. If any being manages to enslave him as a subordinate that he could only break the bond through death then his enemy would breeze through life without any problems.

There are no rules about the fight that would determine the victor either. It didn’t matter what vile means were used by either opponents. As long as one of them won the fight then the loser had to bow their heads and follow the winner’s every order. Of course, there will never be any loser who will willingly serve their winners without taking any revenge if it was any normal situation, but this curse was so airtight that no demon would be able to rebel against it throughout their whole lifetime.

This was also the reason why Fox became insanely furious every time when Tang Cheng Cheng asked about his name. He would always shout at her to shut up about it.

Now that Tang Cheng Cheng saw how Fox had provoked an angry Bear while she perched safely on the tree, she finally had a vague idea on why Fox didn't want her to ask for Lynx’s and Jackal’s names.

[There was an eight out of ten chance that they will fall into bad luck if she knew about their names] She guessed inside her heart.

They probably would get so unlucky like her situation of being caught up in this exchange of souls fiasco, which happened after accidentally having a blood exchange and a kiss with Fox under the powers of a full moon night.

This whole demon world is just really troublesome to her. Even the simple gesture of asking for their names posed such a big problem, and it really made Tang Cheng Cheng feel like she was walking on thin ice.

A strong gust of wind blew, and she shivered suddenly.

Her body had felt so hot just now because of their intense coupling session, but now that the heat had subsided, she could feel the icy cold wind biting on to her skin.

They were already in the middle of a harsh winter!

Fortunately, unlike the ice cave’s surroundings which still had a lot of snow, the valley they fell into was quite deep and it was closer to the flat ground level too. She quickly gathered the lapels of her clothes together tightly, but she could still feel the chilly air biting into her skin. This was because she had long lost the padded jacket that kept her warm from the start.

She looked left and right, squinting her eyes so she could concentrate on the objects surrounding her, and after a while, she managed to catch the sight of the padded jacket that had fell to the ground.

Fox and Bear were still quarreling at the same spot. Had they decided whether they were going to fight or not?

"Humph!" Bear scoffed at Fox, "Don't you think I haven't found out by now that you have been acting weird recently? You are usually such an arrogant stinky fox but suddenly I was able to beat you down so hard that you fell straight into the deep valley. Tell me honestly, were you suddenly poisoned or is it something else?"

"Aww.. Do you actually care for me now?" Fox put his hands together and acted like he was flattered by his words. "Turns out that you really are my good sworn brother!"

"You mother——!" Bear cursed obscenities at him, and in an instant another small tree met its doom once again. "God has finally taken pity on me because I always get bullied by you. Today, I'm going to beat you to death..."

"Hey!" Tang Cheng Cheng, who could no longer stand the cold while being perched high above the trees, shouted in desperation, "Can any of you help me throw my padded jacket up? I'm so cold up here."

Fox: "..."

This girl's brain must be made of mush paste. Couldn’t she feel that a fierce battle was going to explode between him and Bear?

How did she even find the guts to shout out so loudly that Bear would discover her position nearby?

In fact, he did not even have the full confidence that he could win against Bear. After all, Bear had cultivated his powers for 600 years, and now Fox only has 30% of his mana left. If he were to measure his powers based on the number of cultivation years alone, even Jackal would surpass his ability now!

He deliberately delayed the time he needed to engage in a battle with Bear and spoke loudly so that Jackal could hear him.

His chances of winning this battle would increase if he at least had another subordinate to help him. As for Lynx... oh well, it's better for her to be an audience today. If she intervenes, she will definitely make their situation worse.

"Who is it?" Bear raised his head and saw Tang Cheng Cheng. "You... you stinky fox!"

There was a high probability that the dratted fox produced another avatar using his cloning technique, because he could smell Fox’s scent on both of them. The only obvious difference was that this girl now had significantly less of Fox’s scent than when he had found her in the ice cave. This probably happened because Fox’s cloning technique might have declined since he had last seen them.

[See how smart he is] Bear thought. Now that he knew that there must be something wrong with Fox, he should just kill her first, so that she won’t creep up an attack on him while he was not paying attention to his back.

"I'm not a stinky fox!" Tang Cheng Cheng's eyes widened in anger, "I'm a human, just like you are a bear!"

“Look how good you are at blabbing your rude mouth! You still dare to say that you aren’t a stinky fox?!”

Tang Cheng Cheng could only blink her eyes a few times in frustration because she couldn’t understand how she was being rude now.

She had just told the truth, and acted like the honest person she always is.

Another gust of harsh wind blew, causing her to shiver like a withered leaf in the autumn wind.

"Alright, alright, believe whatever you want if it makes you happy."

These demons’ moods were really more volatile than the last one she had the misfortune to encounter. She no longer had the heart to argue with him any longer because she was so cold that her upper and lower rows of teeth were chattering like they were battling against each other.

"Please throw me the padded jacket first. You can fight or quarrel if you want later on. Just ignore me then."

"Humph!" Bear sneered at her. “If you want the jacket then come down here and take it yourself!”

The moment his words ended, Bear used the force of his entire body and slammed into the tree trunk.
