Young Master, come and possess me - Chapter 42
[Chapter 41] [Index] [Chapter 43]
Young Master, Come and Possess Me!
Chapter 42: The rare compliment
The big tree had a thick trunk that could only be encircled by two tall men with their hands held together. It now showed a wide crack in the middle after Bear had collided his body onto it and was now obvious to anyone who was passing by that the big tree was now so bent that it was leaning to the opposite side of the collision.
Tang Cheng Cheng screamed in shrill horror as she held on to the branches for her dear life.
"Stop!"
Fox immediately charged forward.
From the start Fox had tried to maintain some distance away from Bear so he could steer him away from Tang Cheng Cheng. He still had quite a distance to cover, but before Fox could come to the rescue, Bear's paws had already slapped the tree trunk several times, leaving messy deep imprints on the poor tree trunk.
Unable to defend itself against Bear’s constant assault, the tree finally fell to the side with a loud thump.
Tang Cheng Cheng also fell off the tree when her hands slipped at the violent quake Bear’s rage had sent her way.
"Ah—" Her eyes squinted against the ground that was looming closer and closer to her vision, causing Tang Cheng Cheng's face to turn pale in fright. "Young Master, help me!"
"Dang it!"
Fox had no choice but to flip his body twice in the air, kicked once against the wide tree trunk, before soaring in the air to catch Tang Cheng Cheng into his arms.
Bear then took advantage of the fact that Fox was now showing his back, and rushed forward with a loud roar. His massive bear paws emitted a terrifying red light, as he aimed it straight to attack Fox’s unguarded back.
"Be careful!" Tang Cheng Cheng shouted loudly.
"Mother[1]!" Fox cursed in his frustration.
He then concentrated all the mana inside his body as he turned around to counter his powers against Bear's red mana.
Bear didn't dare to underestimate him, but he noticed after a while that Fox now had cold sweat dripping from his temples. This caused Bear to grin in delight.
It was obvious to him that Fox’s mana had decreased significantly and was heading for defeat instead. His powers now were so different to what he was able to achieve in the past.
"Didn't you eat your meals, you stinky fox?" Bear sneered at him.
"Humph!" Fox only let out a mocking laughter, "I'll be full after I drink your honey stash later."
Bear’s face immediately scrunched up in his rage,
"Let’s see if you can even laugh with your stinky mouth later on!"
He roared loudly in his anger and used his other paw to claw at Fox's face.
Fox hurriedly turned himself smaller so he could duck and lay a punch on Bear’s chest. Bear gave him a mocking laughter as he dodged his attack and then restrained Fox's arm so that he could tear his arm off after that.
"Ah ya!"
Bear suddenly shouted in pain. He let go of Fox as he took a few steps back, then covered his eyes protectively by crossing his arms in front of him.
"You...you..."
Fox looked at Tang Cheng Cheng who was laying in his arms in surprise. Her hair was now flowing down as the wispy locks fluttered in the wind. The wooden hairpin that was clutched tightly in between her palm was now coated heavily with blood on it’s sharp tip.
"I’m sorry for that, are you okay?" Tang Cheng Cheng asked Bear apologetically.
She didn't try to hurt him on purpose. She just panicked when she saw that Fox was going to lose this battle. So without any further thoughts in her mind, she pulled out her wooden hairpin and slashed towards Bear's fragile eyes.
She just reacted according to her survival instincts!
"How dare you scratched my eyes when I wasn't paying attention!" Bear charged forward in his rage towards them.
"That’s because you wanted to kill us both!" Tang Cheng Cheng cried out in distress, "If you didn’t want to kill us in the first place, why would I even find a reason to scratch your eyes out?"
She turned her head towards Fox so that he could back her words up:
"Master, am I right?"
Fox tried to hold back his laughter, "That's right."
It was the first time that he actually admired her when she retorted against someone else.
"Stinky fox! Stop babbling nonsense with yourself over there!" Bear rushed forward to attack them once more.
"I'm a human, not a fox!"
"You still dare to say that you’re not a fox when you’ve just hurt me!" The flame of Bear’s anger burned even brighter when her words ended.
An ordinary mortal would never be able to hurt a demon, but Tang Cheng Cheng was no longer a simple human because she had repeatedly exchange her soul with a demon fox.
Although Bear was moving more aggressively now, he could not see the objects clearly in front of him because one of his eye was injured. He kept failing to accurately judge the distance of his enemies in front of him, repeatedly missing his mark every time he use his massive paws to take a swipe at them. He had already barreled down several poor budding young trees in his rampage and his frustration grew when he just couldn’t manage to catch both Fox and Tang Cheng Cheng.
Fox, on the other hand, deliberately provoked and teased him mercilessly, riling him up even further until his murderous rage only concentrated on the fact that he wanted to tear him to pieces.
"Master!" Jackal's voice suddenly bellowed behind Fox.
"You’re finally here!" Fox clicked his tongue then threw Tang Cheng Cheng to Lynx.
Although Lynx was small in size yet she still managed to catch Tang Cheng Cheng firmly in her grasp and did not fall to the ground.
"Take care of that woman!" Fox shouted his orders at her.
"Yes, master, yes!"
"Master, I'll help you!" Jackal conjured a sword out of thin air then charged forward and slashed Bear with the sharp blade.
The battle of the three demons ensued, firmly putting Bear whose eyes were injured at a major disadvantageous position. In the end, he had no choice but to give up and retreat first. Yet he warned Fox before escaping,
"Stinky fox, wait and see how I’ll put you in your place one day!"
Jackal wanted to chase after him, but Fox pulled him back.
"Don't worry about him."
"Yes, master."
Fox then walked to where Tang Cheng Cheng was, "Tie your hair up, you look like a mad woman now."
"Ai, why are you talking to me like this!"
Tang Cheng Cheng pouted her cherry mouth then started to comb her wind-swept hair with her bare hands haphazardly.
After thinking about it for a while, she couldn't help but ask worriedly, "His eyes won’t have any problems in the future right?"
"Who knows."
Fox gave her a sideways glance, then picked up the hairpin that she had tucked into the band on her waist. A snapping sound cracked loudly in the air, leaving her hairpin now broken in half.
Tang Cheng Cheng's eyes widened in shock, "You...how can I tie my hair now that you had broken it?"
"There's Bear’s blood on it. If you continued to wear it, then wouldn’t you just be giving him pointers on where we are currently at?"
He didn’t know whether Bear had actually practiced any blood tracking spells before in his life, but he just wanted to be on the safe side now.
"Then what should I do with my hair now?"
Fox randomly picked a branch then rubbed gently on it with his fingertips. A delicate wooden hairpin took it’s shape gradually.
He directly inserted the pin into Tang Cheng Cheng's hair.
"...Thank you."
"Just now..." He cleared his throat uncomfortably, "Well done."
"What did I do well just now?" Tang Cheng Cheng asked him with a puzzled look.
"We should go now!"
Fox ignored her and walked forward.
"Hey!" Tang Cheng Cheng chased after him, "What kind of things did I do a good job for? You rarely praise me at all so I have to ask you clearly."
"Shut up."
"Young Master, why are you always so stingy? Young Master..."

[1] The exact curse word here used was 娘的 (niang de), which is an old term for mother. Today, this curse word has updated itself to become 妈的 (ma de),and is a curse to scold the recipient’s mother(他妈的 [ta ma de and translates to his mother] can be used as well), or just uttered like the context of d@mn it or sh!t. You have to say those words with a strong conviction verbally and its not considered a curse word either if its connected to other words without a comma after that.
