A thick cloud of smoke hung in the air and it caused Huo Yixuan to choke on it twice when he entered the private room. Several people inside kept on puffing out the cigarette smoke while some of them had already became half hoarse as they sang off-pitch into the microphone.
The moment those people saw Huo Yixuan, they all stopped their movements, stood up and called out “Master Huo” politely.
Huo Yixuan just walked over, picked a spot to sit down, and sneered,
"Why did you guys come here just to sing without having even one woman to accompany you? Don’t you feel bored at all?"
As soon as his speech ended, all the men in the private room laughed. Some of the occupants looked like teenagers while the others looked like they were some kind of gang members, yet they all seemed equally afraid of Huo Yixuan.
Zhang Zhiwei then put down the microphone, sat next to Huo Yixuan, and opened a bottle of beer for him,
"Brother Huo, it's rare to see you here. Bro, why didn't you turn up when we invited you to come here the last few times? Are you finally free to come out to meet us today?"
Liu Yaohui cut in to the conversation and said,
"Do you even need to ask? Our little sister-in-law must have bound him too tightly lately so Brother Huo can’t spare any free time to come here!"
The people around them laughed at his words, while they gave each other knowing looks.
Huo Yixuan just smiled and did nothing to deny his statement, but he did not seem to want to continue this line of conversation either.
Zhang Zhiwei could see that he was a little different than usual so he couldn't help but ask,
"What happened? Are things not going your way? Did sister-in-law get into an argument with you?"
They all knew that Huo Yixuan had a new girlfriend, but they could only make a guess who this girlfriend was. After all, Huo Yixuan had never publicly brought her out to meet any of his acquaintances which was a very different approach than what he did with Liu Mi. In fact, the whole room knew who Liu Mi was.
At the peak of his power, Huo Yixuan had wanted to let everyone know then that Liu Mi belonged to him.
This time, he kept things so private that it was bordering on being a secret.
Some people began to play some drunken fist fights while they drank. Others sang and played cards instead.
Huo Yixuan went silent for a while. He then lit a cigarette, and smoked quietly.
Zhang Zhiwei could see that there was something wrong with his demeanor so he asked him,
"What's the matter, don’t tell me that there is really something wrong with you two? Did you really get into a fight with little sister-in-law?"
Huo Yixuan flicked his cigarette and said,
"Zhiwei, what happened to the thing I asked you to investigate last time?"
Zhang Zhiwei was stunned for a moment. He then took out his mobile phone and pulled out a photo to show him,
"I checked, they were indeed classmates. Yet their relationship is not so simple. They even blabbed on about them because their incident back then was quite a big deal."
"What?"
Huo Yixuan stared at this class photo. He immediately recognized Yang Nainai who was sitting at the first row at his first glance. She was much fatter then than she is now. Her complexion looked so pink and tender, just like a little doll.
His eyes dropped several degrees colder as his gaze honed in on another person.
"They said that it was Yang Nainai who had persistently chased after him all those years ago. She then began to bully his girlfriend because she couldn't get him to like her at all."
Zhang Zhiwei had doubts when he heard the stories about her, but when he remembered how Yang Nainai had secretly took pictures of Huo Yixuan, he suddenly felt like she had the guts to carry the whole thing out too.
He could see the play of emotions on Huo Yixuan's face so he tried to comfort him,
"Brother Huo, that's all in the past anyway. Who hasn't been young and ignorant once? Besides, you are so many times better than that kid. How could little sister-in-law choose him when she has you."
Huo Yixuan forwarded the photo to his phone, and said indifferently,
"Tell me exactly what you found out, don’t miss out even a single detail."
"Ah brother, do you really want to listen to this?"
Huo Yixuan suddenly glared demonically at him, causing a shudder to run through Zhang Zhiwei’s body that he didn't dare to drag on any longer and started to talk about what he heard.

It was a weekend and Yang Nainai could feel a whole barrage of opposing feelings war inside her heart when she saw advertisements showing discounted prices for Single’s Day everywhere.
She felt like she was single, but that was not exactly true either.
She had a boyfriend officially, but when she thought of Huo Yixuan, she couldn’t call him her boyfriend either.
That guy was a boyfriend who almost drowned her, but he was also a boyfriend who comforted and protected her when she was sad.
Yang Nainai felt lost and confused. In the end, she could only regard Huo Yixuan as a friend.
They had spent most of their time in bed and had never even went on a movie date either.
She had only enjoyed a date as lovers once with him, and she still ended up under him while he took care of her body until her tears streamed down her face.
They haven't been in touch for almost a week, and Yang Nainai pretended as if nothing had happened. She acted as if she could not hear nor understand any of the gossip her classmates had cruelly spread around.
Her optimistic mind repeated that this separation was really good for her too since she could now take this opportunity to break off from him completely. She could now study with a peace of mind, and prepare for the college entrance examination.
After all, didn’t this just prove to her that puppy love never ends well?
"Nainai, are you done yet? Come here quickly."
Ma Shanshan yelled at her loudly, rousing Yang Nainai back from her reverie while she hurriedly ran over.
It was rare for Singles' Day to be on the weekend, so Ma Shanshan immediately dragged Yang Nainai to go shopping with her.

"You kept this from me and hooked up with Huo Yixuan. If you don’t make this up to me and nicely patch up my broken little heart, then I will just chuck away our sisterhood."
Those were Ma Shanshan's exact words, and Yang Nainai just agreed to her request with a smile.
Ma Shanshan had been such a good friend so far as she didn't snide her like the others. She even scolded those who gossipped freely about her and her heart warmed at the rare friendship that she was lucky enough to have.
After all, no one had stood by her side all those years ago.
She did ask Ma Shanshan why she wasn't angry at all. Ma Shanshan only flung her long hair back and sneered,
"A man is like a dog, they will pant after the flavor of the day anyway. Why would I choose to abandon my sister who I have known for years for a strange man who I’ve only met a few times??"
Yang Nainai was so moved by her words that she almost knelt down, hugged her thighs and cried.
Sister, what you said, just makes perfect sense.
Ma Shanshan then said,
"However, you chose to hide the fact that you were both dating. You even saw me go crazy about him so I'm not happy about that. This Singles’ Day, you have to treat me to a big lavish dinner, otherwise I won’t treat you as my good sister anymore."
Yang Nainai quickly nodded in agreement. As soon as the weekend arrived, she went out for a girl’s day with Ma Shanshan.

Yet the girls’ enthusiasm didn’t stop there either and went off the charts.
After more than two hours of continuous shopping, they both lugged a bunch of shopping bags, but they never even felt tired at all.
They then used their last ounce of energy to queue up for the Internet celebrity restaurant they had wanted to try for quite some time.
Yang Nainai lined up with her for almost half an hour before she felt like she just wanted to get out from this place ASAP.
"Good sister, I heard that this celebrity restaurant always invites actors to pretend that they are lining up for the queue. In fact, I heard that the food here is terrible too."
Ma Shanshan and a few other couples glared at her as her words reached their ears,
"Stop talking nonsense, I'll decide what I want to eat today. In fact I came here because I want to see if the dishes of this restaurant is really as bad as Huang Shiqi had reviewed on social media."
Yang Nainai squinted her eyes. Did she have some score to settle with Huang Shiqi?
"Tell me honestly, what kind of grudges did you two have with each other? Why waste so much of your energy trying to expose her?"
Ma Shanshan probably planned to eat here, so that she can tell the others that the food here was not so bad.
Ma Shanshan sneered,
"You don't know do you? It’s enough that that b!tch likes to pretend like she’s this ‘oh so innocent’ little angel. She already has a truck load worth of guys she had been with, yet she still acts like she’s single all the time."
"What does this have to do with you? Did she steal your man?" Yang Nainai asked in confusion.
"No, I don't care how many boyfriends she has, but she actually dared to belittle my restaurant, saying that the food is unpalatable. I want to see how delicious the food really is in this broken-a s s restaurant instead."
